Trips

Great trips to the theatre ...

Some of the best learning experiences can be achieved by simply watching and that’s why at least once a year we arrange a school outing to a theatre. Together with offering a great opportunity for all students and staff to socialise, it’s a superb chance to see how the pros do it.

Through our contacts in the theatre world, we can obtain value for money tickets which can see us visit theatres in Bath, Bristol and London.

During our visit we may even be able to arrange a sneek peak back stage and if we are very lucky you may briefly meet some of the cast.

Honk!

During March 2013 we attended a fantastic production of Honk! at Bath Spa University. Earlier that day all students took their nationally recognised exams in Musical Theatre from Trinity College, London. After several months and many hours of hard work it was the perfect way for all staff, students and their families to relax and socialise. It was also the ideal opporunity for children to find out about this fantastic musical comedy which all Bath Theatre School students will be performing at Kingswood Theatre, Bath, next term.

CATS

In October 2013 we went to see Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic, CATS, based on the Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot. CATS had not been staged in the UK for many years and therefore we were all very much looking forward to seeing this great musical. Only a month into the new academic year it was a great opportunity for all new and returning students to get to know one another.

We were all treated to a fantastic performance with a cast oozing with talent, making for a purrrfect evening out!

Joseph

Whilst enjoying a trip to the Rondo Theatre in Bath in 2014 to see some of our teachers performing in the comedy play ‘Allo Allo’, we also arranged to see ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ in March 2015. This was our first theatre trip since launching our second school which saw us attend the Theatre Royal in Bath with some of our students to see the opening night of the production’s visit to Bath. We were treated to a fun filled evening packed with upbeat numbers which left students and teachers alike on their feet singing along for the show’s finale. With Bath Theatre School’s production of Joseph in the summer of 2015, it was perfect timing for the cast and crew.
