Beechen Cliff & Hayesfield - Musical Theatre Group

Proudly working in partnership

Bath Theatre School is proud to be working in partnership with Beechen Cliff and Hayesfield schools to share our expertise to provide a musical theatre group which can support the development of a range of performing and key life skills, whilst also building confidence … and not to mention a huge amount of fun along the way! No previous experience is required so if you are remotely interested in taking to the stage with drama, singing or movement then why not come along for a taster by completing the form below or just turn up on the day?

Things to know …

We will be working towards a professionally staged musical at a theatre in Bath with public performances, which will be a highlight in your schools’ calendar – previous productions have enjoyed total audiences of 1000! This requires a high level of commitment so it is vital that attendance is excellent. If you decide to join you will be given access to the online learning portal which will include the annual timetable and a range of material to allow students to practice at home.

When: The group runs every term time Friday straight after school for 2hrs. Lessons will be extended slightly as we near the production ashow being in the final school week before the Easter break. A full schedule will be issued as soon as you complete the form below.

Where: Recital Room in the Music Centre at Beechen Cliff School.

Who can come along: The theatre group is open to all Beechen Cliff and Hayesfield students. If you are interested in coming along then you just need to complete the form and come along to the next rehearsal, with further details being sent to you via a welcome email.

What to expect: Initially we will be working on some stage skills in the areas of drama, singing and movement. We will then quickly move onto preparing for our professionally staged production. If following your initial trial lesson you would like to continue, then this and any remaining lessons are charged at £75 per term, with a total of four terms payable for the production. If following your trial you don’t wish to continue, then there is no charge. Pupil premium support is available for any eligible families, and where applicable, as an OFSTED registered provider, we can also accept child care vouchers.

Anything else & Important Points:

  • No previous experience is required and no students will be expected to perform on their own unless they are happy to do so.

  • The production requires a high level of commitment so good attendance is vital.

  • Make sure you bring refreshments including plenty to drink.

  • Once you have enrolled we will provide you with access to our online learning portal to support any learning activities … some brief recapping of any dances, script and songs will be essential between lessons … but shouldn’t take long!
